New Shopping Centre Logo

The recent acknowledgement that the first phase of redeveloping the area around Elephant & Castle is unlikely to commence before 2012 has given developers and local businesses the opportunity to look at ways of improving the shopping centre both internally and externally.

St Modwens recently appointed the branding and design experts at the London College of Communication to help create a new modern logo for the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre. It is their intention (in partnership with Southwark Council) to rebrand the shopping centre with both internal and external signage and redecoration of the malls and entranceways. This will help to refresh the centre in a most visual way in order to both retain and help new customers.

The proposed new logo would be used on all future signage. Whilst it is a fresh, modern logo it also maintains the traditional symbolism of the Elephant & Castle which is so widely recognised.

For everyone who uses or works in the centre the new logo is obviously very important. St Modwens would welcome any feedback from local residents or businesses to ensure they implement a brand and signage strategy that we all support and can be proud of.
