Corsica Studios - Corsica Studios is an independent arts organisation that sets up and develops creative spaces in areas of London. Over the last 7 years we have created a new type of independent art organisation that places a wide range of media activities within alternative spaces. Our reputation has been built by establishing creative platforms for the arts in areas of regeneration deliberately utilising buildings that were standing empty and unused. Our new space is located in The Elephant & Castle, an area which is undergoing an enormous regeneration programme and is to be established as an up-coming centre for Creativity and Culture. We are developing our premises into a facility that offers a flexible, high-quality environment for both the production and creation of fine art, music, film and digital media and, simultaneously, a professional multi-purpose venue that is fully-equipped for exhibitions, live performances, film screenings and private functions. This ability to produce work in one part of the studios and exhibit, screen and perform in another makes us a unique creative complex. As artists ourselves we are fully aware of the requirements of other creative professionals and we have established our space to meet their, and our own, high standards. Corsica Studios is a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee and has both strong artistic and social aims. Through our partnerships, work with local organisations and training programmes we are active within the local community and are committed to realising our belief that art has an important role to play within the regeneration process.
Ministry of Sound - Ministry of Sound – the club – opened in London in September 1991 and has since established a cult following among clubbers worldwide. Celebrating its 17th Birthday this year, the venue remains at heart of the brand as it’s where the story began and has also been the catalyst for the company’s many brand ventures and extensions. Inspired by the US house music movement James Palumbo, Ministry of Sound’s founder and visionary, established Elephant & Castle in London as the venue’s location and opted for an unused bus depot for its infrastructure due to its raw and unkempt warehouse character that was the dominant clubbing environment of the early 90’s. The vision was to import many of the world’s most famous DJs to the UK enabling dance music fans access to the music they adored and the DJs that played and produced it. And of course supply this on a soundsystem like nothing ever experienced before in clubland, an acheivement the venue can still boast today. Throughout the last few years the club has been used for corporate functions of all types and after its latest refurbishment in 2006 it is now regarded as one of the most sought after, state of the art event spaces London has to offer, resulting in the venue being voted 15th in RSVP Magazine corporate venue of the year 2006.
The Coronet Theatre - After a 6 month, 2 million pound restoration project, the all-new CORONET THEATRE represents a versatile, 21st century, state-of-the-art venue, adaptable for use, from small intimate comedy events to international awards, from intimate gigs to 2,160 stylish cabaret evenings to thumping club nights. Some recent performances include; Oasis, Placebo, Dirty Pretty Things, Blur, Primal Scream, CSS, Mia, The Enemy, Santogold, The Horrors, The Libertines, Juno Reactor, Infected Mushroom, Anitworld parties, Lost Vagueness parties and the ever popular Secretsundaze Parties
